Celina asked me to do this painting months ago. And over time, I worked and worked and worked until my painting style changed a little bit from before and grew into something elegant, mysterious, dark and light and magical. It’s interpretive, and when I say that, I mean its almost like a visual landscape of feeling, thoughts and intuition. A made up space that is neither here nor there, but is everywhere at once, inside and outside, literal and utterly not.
I did a personality quiz last night to double check that I am indeed who I think I am. I am an INFP. (I double checked with two different websites, just to be sure.) It means: Introverted, iNtuitive, Feeling, Perceiving. The web describes this as an idealistic healer. I think I agree. And I guess it turns out that after all, I am doing the exact thing that I should be.
It is easy to feel defeated as an idealist in such a heavy American current. Lol. But, even if it takes a year, I can guess I can just keep reworking the details, trying again, until my painting is finally done and I am ready for the next one to begin.
Custom portrait painting of Celina and Fidel. Hand made in photoshop with a drawing tablet and imagination.
