One of the many things our blog is helpful for is for our clients to choose a location for their own Engagement Session. As these casual portrait sessions are included with all of our wedding packages, it can really be fun to do a search on this blog to see some different types of environments and the how different the images that result can be. Rochelle and Matt met with Faith and I on an overcast day… often clients are hesitant about shooting on overcast days. But it is very important to note that while beautiful images can be made in most any kind of light… overcast days result in beautiful soft portrait light that is remarkably flexible… the large overhead clouds make for a gigantic soft box over the sun, softening all of the light. A perfect day for portraits is actually not the day where there is not a cloud in the sky… sometimes that light can just be too extreme. The perfect day is one with a few clouds here and there. We also try to always shoot most of our portraits in the late day sunlight, when the colors become more saturated and speckles the world with a stunning warmth.
Towards the end of the session, we moved to downtown Athens and took a few pictures in the Manhattan… 🙂
